Celebrating 9 Years of Ministry. Investing in Our Next Chapter.
Since 2017, The Gathering Harlem has been a safe space for people to come together, unite around the gospel of Jesus, and participate in the work of making God’s invisible justice, love, and mercy visible in our community. As we enter our 9th year of ministry, we are holding onto a word from the Psalms that has become a guiding theme for this season: REFUGE.
The Bible declares that God is our refuge and strength—a very present help in times of trouble (Psalm 46:1). We believe that if God is a refuge, then His church should be a place where people can run to find safety, care, community, and hope. This year, we are inviting our church family, friends, and partners to help us raise $50,000 through the Refuge Fund. Your generosity will help us strengthen the ministry we are doing today while preparing for what God is calling us to build tomorrow.

Creating space to care for people
We will replenish our benevolence fund so that we can continue supporting members of our community who are navigating the challenges of life in our city. We will also invest in outreach as we focus on a key initiative to serve our neighbors beyond the walls of our church.

Building a stronger foundation for the future
After a year of declined generosity and increased need for assistance within our community, we want to strengthen the financial foundation of our church. We will place $25,000 into church savings, helping us build a greater safety net and sustain the ministry for the years ahead.

Preparing for our next chapter
We are enthusiastically looking toward our 10-year anniversary and the opportunities that lie ahead. This includes resourcing our 10-year celebration, praying toward a return to The National Black Theater, and ultimately pursuing a new home for worship.
We will also make a $2,500 gift to Pray March Act toward their $30,000 fundraising goal, supporting their work and the Justice Conference 2027.
