PASTOR KENNY HART

Hey Fam! I’m Kenny, the lead pastor of this church, a Harlem native, and a suffering Knicks fan. I was raised on these streets believing that I would one day escape them and move on to greener pastures. But God had a different plan for my life and He called me, my wife Shanika, and our sons - to start this church in 2017. Now, all I want to do for Harlem is love the place that I thought that I had to leave. I believe that the beauty of Jesus has the power to change every story, transform every heart, and renew every community. That's my story, just a kid from the hood that came home to do good.

Hey! Im Jensy, I am the Community Life Director at The Gathering. Harlem is home, it is where my immigrant Dominican parents settled, where I grew up, and it is the place that made me who I am. I earned a B.A. in Bible from Nyack College, and an M.Div. in New Testament from Princeton Theological Seminary. Prior to coming on board at the Gathering, I helped to plant a church in our neighborhood and served as its Associate Pastor. I have also had the privilege of serving Nyack College as an Adjunct Professor of New Testament and Hermeneutics. My passion is to translate all of the theological training that I have received into concrete action to help those who are most in need. I grew up on Bruce Lee, Van Damme, Bruce Leroy, Rocky and I’m always down to watch these classics again.

Hi! I'm Libby, and I'm the Kids Team Director at TGH. Born and raised in Queens, I received a Bachelors in Early Childhood Ed from Nyack College and a Masters in Early Childhood Special Ed from Queens College. I taught Pre-K for five years and absolutely loved it, but my proudest teaching moments come from the time I taught abroad in Zambia. Once I got back in 2016, God saw fit to move me to Harlem. Back then I saw it as happenstance, but since then, He's been revealing to me how intentional that move was and all the doors He would open through it. Things I’m passionate about include getting to know people, all things cozy, living life in diverse settings, binge watching The Office, travel, and telling stories about things I love.

Cristina jones

Hello, I am Cristina Jones, the Worship Ministry Director at TGH. I was born in Baltimore, MD, but spent most of my life in Los Angeles, CA, where I was a professional background singer for many years for notable R&B artists like Aaliyah, Tamia, and Keyshia Cole.

In 2008, I decided to leave the music industry and focus on giving my life and gifts over to the Lord completely for Him to do what He saw fit. I led praise and worship at my former church in Los Angeles until I moved to New York in 2010. I started attending The Gathering in the summer of 2018, and I am honored to worship with this amazing church!

t’hai jones

Hey everyone!! I'm T'hai Jones (pronounced Ty), the Worship Music Director for TGH. I'm originally from Maryland, right next to Washington DC but lived in Los Angeles, CA for 15 years. I moved to New York in 2017 and started attending TGH the summer of 2018. I've been singing and writing music since I was a young girl. While I was in LA I had the opportunity to work in the music industry and travel the world. I never thought in a million years that I would be the musical director of any worship ministry. I learned over time that I had to let go of what I thought and get in alignment with God's thoughts for me. And with all my experience, nothing compares to using your gifts for the kingdom of God. When people look at me I don't want them to say, "Oh, that's the Worship Musical Director." I want them to look at me and say "Oh, that's a worshiper."

Hey y'all! My name is Jessica, and I am the Creative Director here at The Gathering Harlem. Originally from New Rochelle, New York, I moved to Florida back in 2005. During my time in the South, I earned my Bachelors in Multimedia Studies at Florida Atlantic University. In 2016, God called my family and I back to the Empire State, where I continued my education in Media Studies at The New School. I first attended TGH during its launch service, and I knew almost immediately that this was my church home. I've always been passionate about content creation, so it feels amazing to be able to use my creativity for God's glory. Aside from being Creative Director and a freelancer, I enjoy going to cat cafes, artist showcases, and counting down the days until Christmas comes back around.
